Neuropathology deals with the physiology and nervous system diseases. Nervous system consists of the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nervous system. The treatment for these three departments that do not require surgical intervention are performed by the neurology department. Neuropathology is divided into two separate branches as adult and child neurology. At our clinic, we diagnose and treat both adult and children patients. MRI, laboratory and ultrasound Doppler are used to diagnose and treat diseases in the field of neuropathology. A Neuropathologist is extensively trained in examining tissues of the nervous system. Neuropathologists diagnose diseases in the nervous system, and they work closely with the neurosurgeon, conducting extensive radiology diagnosis.

WHEN WOULD YOU NEED A NEUROPATHOLOGIST?

  • Sudden and sharp headaches that are not relieved by painkillers
  • Dizziness, light-headedness and fainting
  • Pain in the face, neck, back, limbs
  • Muscle weakness
  • Lack of sleep, speech loss, concentration disorder
  • General impairment of movement coordination
  • Unexpected limb movements
  • Eyelid ptosis
  • Memory loss
  • Vision loss
  • Tinnitus
  • Face asymmetry

RELATED CASES

  • Epilepsy (small or large seizures, epileptic seizures that requires surgery)
  • Amnesia (Alzheimer’s and other dementias, dementia due to vitamin and hormone deficiencies, hydrocephalus)
  • Muscular diseases (myasthenia gravis, myopathies)
  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and other inflammatory diseases of the brain
  • Dizzy spells (vertigos)
  • Spinal cord diseases

DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT

  • MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), MRA (Magnetic Resonance Angiography)
  • CT
  • Densitometry
  • Colour Doppler Ultrasound
  • Physical therapy and Rehabilitation
  • Following the diagnosis, it will help the patient to pursue individually compiled drug treatment with controlled nutrition, while adjusting to a better lifestyle. Patients might be prescribed physiotherapy if necessary

The causes and conditions of the diseases are investigated using diagnostic devices and blood analysis. The best treatment is applied in the light of proper diagnosis
