Our clinics use MRI machines with a magnetic field strength of 1.5 Tesla — the “gold standard” for precise diagnostics.
High resolution and scanning speed provide informative images on the first attempt, reducing the need for repeat procedures and speeding up accurate diagnosis.
Medical Center, Almaty
Scanning takes up to 40 minutes: without contrast — up to 20 min, with contrast — up to 40 min.
The 2135 mm long table with a 120 kg capacity and a wide 60 cm tunnel accommodates larger patients.
HDMR technology: 16-channel coils improve image detail and resolution, reducing scanning time via parallel imaging.
Scanners are equipped with QUIET technology to reduce noise for patient comfort.

How to prepare for MRI scanning?
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a non-invasive diagnostic method using magnetic fields to obtain clear images of internal anatomical structures.
MRI is prescribed for:
Soft tissue examination (brain and spinal cord, ligaments, joints).
Diagnosis of neurological and vascular diseases including stroke, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, brain and spinal tumors, and intervertebral disc hernias.
Avoiding radiation during pregnancy (accepted from the 2nd trimester).
Obtaining detailed images without contrast — MRI visualizes soft tissues well even without contrast, important for patients with allergies or contrast contraindications.
In most cases, no special preparation is needed. But there are important exceptions:
Diet: For MRI of abdominal, pelvic, and retroperitoneal organs, fasting is required — do not eat 4–6 hours before the scan. Avoid high-fiber food, alcohol, and smoking the day before.
Contrast: Usually no tests or preparation are required for contrast MRI.
Metal: Remove all metal items — watches, jewelry, piercings.
Important Info: Inform your doctor if you have implants, a pacemaker, or are pregnant.
During scanning: lie still — this is important for image quality.
Before MRI, it is important to be aware of contraindications. The scan may be impossible or limited if:
Presence of pacemakers, neurostimulators, insulin pumps.
Presence of vascular clips on brain vessels.
Unable to remain still (due to pain or neurological issues).
Body weight over 120 kg.
First trimester of pregnancy.
Severe claustrophobia (scan possible with sedation).
Presence of tattoos with metallic ink.
Presence of implants or prostheses (not always a contraindication — depends on material).
